Join Hewitt Foods USA as a Procurement Assistant and play a key role in supporting purchasing, inventory management, and vendor coordination activities for raw materials, packaging, and supplies used in protein production. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will help ensure production requirements are met while maintaining accurate records, food safety standards, and supplier compliance.
About the Role
As a Procurement Assistant, you will support the day-to-day procurement and inventory operations that keep our production facilities running efficiently. Working closely with Procurement, Production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, Scheduling, and Planning teams, you'll help ensure materials are available when needed, inventory records remain accurate, and supplier relationships are maintained. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented professional looking to grow their career in procurement and supply chain operations within the food manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities

- Track deliveries and maintain accurate vendor and purchasing information within company systems.

- Conduct inventory counts, assist with reconciliations, and monitor stock levels to support production requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure materials are available to meet production schedules.
- Maintain traceability, food safety, and regulatory compliance documentation, including HACCP and USDA requirements.
About You
You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy matters. You take pride in maintaining records, following established processes, and supporting operational success through effective communication and collaboration. You are proactive, dependable, and eager to learn while contributing positively to a team-focused culture. Experience in food manufacturing or supply chain operations is advantageous, but a willingness to learn and develop is equally important.
You Will Bring
- 1-2 years' experience in procurement, inventory, supply chain support, or a related administrative function, ideally within food manufacturing.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.
