Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our healthcare team in Portland. Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to patient needs.
- Provide direct patient care in an outpatient care setting.
- Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatment, and communicate updates to the supervising therapist.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care settings through education and mobility training.
- Maintain accurate medical terminology documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes, especially in orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and rehabilitation programs.
Skills
- Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques including manual therapies.
- Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Experience working in outpatient clinics.
- Familiarity with care plans development for diverse populations such as geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Ability to apply physiotherapy principles effectively within outpatient contexts.
- Prior experience in orthopedics or geriatrics is highly desirable for this role.
