Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling cash, credit/debit card transactions, and balancing the cash drawer at shift end
- Deliver friendly and professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and providing product information
- Assist customers with product demos and upselling opportunities to enhance their shopping experience and increase sales
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure products are well-presented according to merchandising standards
- Maintain knowledge of store products to answer customer inquiries confidently and recommend suitable options
- Support store operations by managing retail math calculations for pricing, discounts, and inventory counts
- Uphold phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Skills
- Proven experience with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations
- Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities in both bilingual settings (if applicable)
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership in retail environments is a plus
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for sales transactions, pricing adjustments, and stock counts
- Knowledge of retail store product lines, merchandising techniques, and grocery store procedures (if applicable)
- Experience in stocking shelves, inventory management, and product demos to engage customers effectively
- Exceptional phone etiquette skills combined with the ability to handle upselling and suggestive selling techniques
