Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Collect and record accurate data on client behaviors, progress, and responses during therapy sessions to inform ongoing treatment plans.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, eating, and toileting, to support independence.
- Support clients in developing communication skills through various teaching strategies tailored to their needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and ensure all medical documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with the supervising BCBA and other team members to review progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed.
- Foster a positive, patient-centered environment that encourages learning, growth, and emotional well-being for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy techniques and principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorder.
- Ability to assist with ADLs and implement behavior management strategies effectively.
- Excellent data collection skills to track client progress accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and care plans related to behavioral health.
- Compassionate approach with patience, flexibility, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to adhere to confidentiality standards such as HIPAA and maintain detailed medical documentation.
