Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Alternate Director of Nursing to join our Home Health Agency facility team. In this vital leadership role, you will serve as a key clinical resource, providing oversight and support for nursing operations in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
Your expertise will ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care, compliance with regulatory standards, and the smooth functioning of nursing services across all shifts. Duties in the Absence of the DON
- Assist in managing daily nursing operations, ensuring high-quality resident care and adherence to all regulatory requirements including Medicare and long-term care regulations
- Support and supervise nursing staff, including shift management, performance evaluations, and ongoing training to promote professional growth
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, review, and implement personalized care plans for patients
- Oversee documentation review, medical records management, and compliance with HIPAA and other privacy laws using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
- Ensure accurate coding and completion of MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments to support reimbursement and quality metrics
- Lead efforts in regulatory compliance audits, quality assurance initiatives, and staff education on long-term care standards
- Manage clinical supervision during various shifts, ensuring consistent patient care delivery while maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff
Requirements
- Proven experience in Home Health Agency's
- Demonstrated supervising experience (of at least 1 year) with nurse management responsibilities including shift oversight and team leadership
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and long-term care regulations essential for effective oversight
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, medical records documentation review, and regulatory compliance protocols
- Strong understanding of Medicare requirements and documentation procedures for reimbursement purposes
- Excellent communication skills combined with leadership ability to manage diverse clinical teams effectively

We are open to discussing a PRN position, a part-time in the office and the field position and expect either position to grow into full time as the agency grows. Benefits offered with a full time position.
