As a Director Hospice Support Services you’ll contribute to our success in the following ways:

Provides leadership and oversight of multidisciplinary teams, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and development to ensure high-quality support services delivery.

Serves as an active member of the interdisciplinary team, supporting assessment, care planning, and service implementation.

Oversees medical record processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.

Monitors compliance with state and federal regulations, including licensure and hospice certification requirements.

Leads oversight of support services delivery, ensuring alignment with agency policies and quality standards.
-
Identifies program gaps and improvement opportunities; develops proposals to enhance services and outcomes.

Develops and implements policies, procedures, and guidelines to support program effectiveness and compliance.

Oversees staffing functions, including scheduling, supervision, and ongoing education for care team members.

Participates in agency-wide planning, program development, and Quality Improvement initiatives.
-
Supports recruitment, onboarding, and career development strategies for patient care team members.
-
Designs and delivers education programs to ensure staff competency and professional growth.
-
Serves as subject matter expert for social services, bereavement, chaplain, volunteer, and veteran programs; establishes best practices.

Monitors KPIs and provides consultative support on high-risk patient issues (e.g., suicide risk, PTSD), partnering with clinical leadership.
What is Required?

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: MSW
-
Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in social work from a school of social work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education
-
Minimum five (5) years of social work experience in a healthcare setting. (3) years Hospice experience
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
-
Proven leadership experience in managing and developing teams across bereavement, social work, and spiritual care services
-
Strategic program management skills, including planning, implementation, and oversight of support service initiatives
-
Working knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., Conditions of Participation) and ability to ensure compliance across programs
-
Highly organized and results-driven, with the ability to manage budgets, meet deadlines, and oversee multiple programs simultaneously
