Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals for children, in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential for maintaining the efficiency of our kitchen operations and ensuring that all food safety standards are met. Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients using proper knife skills.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Help with inventory management by receiving, storing, and labeling food products appropriately.
- Participate in catering events as needed, assisting with setup, service, and cleanup.
- Support the culinary team during busy service periods to ensure timely meal delivery.
- Follow all kitchen procedures and guidelines to promote a positive work atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety standards is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- A passion for cooking and the culinary arts is highly desirable.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
