Responsibilities
- Assist senior stylists with hair styling, coloring, and braiding , including hair extensions, and natural styles
- Prepare clients for services by performing consultations, explaining treatments, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Maintain salon cleanliness and sanitation standards, including sterilizing tools such as straight razors and implementing proper hygiene practices.
- Help with retail product upselling by educating clients on hair care products, makeup applications, and retail math strategies to enhance their experience.
- Assist with store management tasks such as inventory checks and organizing supplies for efficient salon operations.
- Mentor new team members on salon procedures, customer service excellence, and technical skills like hair threading or color theory fundamentals.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of cosmetology or barbering principles; Cosmetic license required
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.
- Experience with salon software systems such as MINDBODY is a plus.
- Familiarity with sanitation standards and proper sterilization techniques for tools like straight razors.
- Passion for hair styling, makeup application, nail care, and providing outstanding customer service.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new skills including retail sales techniques and advanced styling methods like hair threading or color application.
