Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food before use.
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean kitchen and sanitize work areas throughout the shift.
- Follow the restaurant’s recipes and presentation specifications.
- Assist in the monitoring of inventory and the ordering of new supplies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school attendance is a plus.
