HYW Kindergarten & 1st Grade Jumpstart Summer Program - Teachers (4)
Program Goal: Students entering Hyannis West Elementary kindergarten and 1st grade will be invited to participate in a summer session to prepare these students and their families for the Kindergarten and 1st Grade, school routines, expected behaviors, supports available, and allay fears.

Job Description: Teachers will:

Introduce entering Kindergarten students to the classroom setting, routines, and expectations

Model expected behaviors in the classroom

Plan, prepare and deliver jumpstart curriculum & daily activities

Provide student data to Program Coordinator

Tour the school building, including cafeteria and gymnasium

Program staff will report to school and/or program administration and follow participating students’ progress
Program duration and anticipated schedule

August 10, 2026 – August 20, 2026

Monday through Thursday, 8:30am - 12:30pm (4 hrs/day)

4 Hours Program Preparation/Orientation

1 Hour of End of Program Clean Up Time

Qualifications

Appropriate certification and/or educational background

Strong planning and organizational skills
