Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
- Follow food safety standards in handling, storage, and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Assist with meal preparation for service periods, ensuring timely delivery of quality food items
- Maintain cleanliness of work stations, utensils, and kitchen surfaces through regular cleaning routines
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during busy hours
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting improvements or modifications based on ingredient availability and customer feedback
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or dietary departments is highly desirable
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food preparation methods
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and correctly
- Experience with dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and kitchen staff
