Duties
- Safely operate various types of trucks such as front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds to transport goods efficiently.
- Load and unload cargo using mechanical skills and appropriate equipment, ensuring secure placement for transit.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections on manual transmission vehicles to confirm safety standards are met before each journey.
- Drive in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies while maintaining a clean driving record.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks when loading or unloading cargo to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Manage delivery schedules by planning routes effectively and communicating with dispatch as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on trucks to identify mechanical issues early and coordinate repairs when necessary.
Experience
- Proven commercial driving experience with a valid CDL license, including experience operating heavy-duty trucks such as dump trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers.
- Prefer mechanical knowledge related to truck systems and basic repairs.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and the ability to operate them safely over long distances or in urban environments.
- Experience in heavy lifting tasks associated with cargo handling during loading or unloading processes.
- Minimum 1-2 years driver experience preferred, demonstrating reliability in managing schedules and customer interactions.
