Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator / Warehouse team member to join us. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse operations, including experience with various types of heavy equipment and materials handling. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting overall warehouse productivity.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments safely and efficiently.
- Utilize RF scanners to track inventory and manage warehouse management systems.
- Perform order picking tasks, ensuring accuracy in fulfilling customer orders.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational challenges.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any mechanical issues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution or similar environments.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including forklifts and cranes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
- Experience with materials handling practices and safety regulations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
- Knowledge of order picking processes and shipping & receiving protocols.
- Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor is a plus.
- Comfort working with warehouse management systems and RF scanners.
