Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting creative dish ideas and seasonal specials
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper food handling and storage
- Ensure all food safety protocols are followed diligently to uphold health standards
- Support food preparation for catering events or large parties as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and smooth kitchen operations
- Use knife skills effectively to chop, slice, dice, and portion ingredients accurately
Requirements
- Prior experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, particularly in a culinary or kitchen role
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Experience with food service, cooking, and food presentation standards
- Familiarity with dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards serving guests
