Summary/Objective
Allied Medical Training is seeking an experienced educator who is passionate about developing the next generation of EMS professionals through exceptional classroom instruction and innovative online learning.
This position combines approximately 75% classroom instruction with 25% curriculum and online content development. The ideal candidate is equally energized by teaching students in person and creating engaging educational experiences that improve learning outcomes.
Working closely with the Director of Education & Training & VP of Operations, this individual will deliver EMT and EMR classroom instruction, contribute to curriculum development, build interactive online learning experiences, and continuously improve the student learning experience.
Initial Outcomes
1. Complete Our EMT Course
- Within the first two months of hire, complete our EMT course, including online training and Skill Week.
- Provide at least 3 areas of improvement with suggestions based on the experience as a student in the online course.
- If not already certified, pass the national certification exam and become a nationally certified and MN state-certified EMT.
2. Deliver Exceptional Classroom Instruction
- Independently lead classroom sessions while maintaining high student satisfaction.
- Consistently deliver training aligned with Allied Medical Training's educational methodology.
- Build strong rapport with students while maintaining professional standards.
3. Enhance Online Learning
- Develop and publish at least five new interactive learning modules or major course enhancements within the first six months.
- Create at least 10 new video-based learning activities (a combination of recorded live instruction and visual slides/voiceover style) to enhance the EMT course to include more video content in the first 6 months.
- Incorporate instructional design best practices, adult learning principles, and interactive learning strategies into all new content.
4. Improve Educational Quality
- Identify and implement at least five curriculum or classroom improvements based on student feedback, trainer observations, and educational best practices during the first year.
- Complete a thorough review of all current initial and refresher course content, including exams, to identify errors, typos, or other areas for improvement in the first year.
Essential Functions
Classroom Education (75%)
- Deliver engaging EMT and EMR classroom instruction using Allied Medical Training's educational methodology.
- Facilitate hands-on skills practice, simulations, and scenario-based learning.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely coaching and feedback.
- Serve as an examiner, exam coordinator, or approved agent as needed.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive classroom environment.
- Assist the classroom leadership team with onboarding and mentoring classroom instructors
- Participate in curriculum review and instructional quality improvement initiatives.
Curriculum & Online Development (25%)
- Design and develop engaging online learning experiences using Articulate Rise, Storyline, Canva, Google Workspace, and other educational technology.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure medical accuracy and educational effectiveness.
- Create assessments, activities, simulations, and multimedia learning resources.
- Analyze student performance and feedback to improve course effectiveness.
- Assist with educational webinars, instructional videos, and learning resources as needed.

Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting as well as the company training facility in Edina plus remote online work. Most weeks will require 4 days at the facility and 1 day remote. Occasional weeks allow for more remote work. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This role also uses training equipment used for CPR, airway skills, backboarding, lifting and moving, vitals, ambulance stretcher, and other equipment required for EMT and EMR skills training.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; crouch; kneel; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and EMS equipment up to 30 pounds, and to bend and stand as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position and hours of work will vary depending on class schedules. Based on the class schedule, it may be that some weeks are over 40 hours and other weeks are less than 40 hours. Very occasional evenings are required, and support for 5 to 6 weekend classes a year may be needed.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching, instructor, or training facilitation experience
- Minimum of 2 years of curriculum development, instructional design, or online content development experience
- Experience creating educational content using modern instructional technology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to teach confidently in front of groups and facilitate active learning
Preferred Education & Experience
- Experience applying adult learning principles to both classroom and online environments
- Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Adult Education, Instructional Design, or related field
- Experience using Articulate Storyline and Rise
- Minnesota EMT certification (or higher)
- Experience teaching EMS or other healthcare professionals
- Experience using Articulate Storyline and Rise
- Experience using AI-assisted tools to enhance curriculum development
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Employee must be authorized to work in the United States and must possess a valid driver’s license.
