American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position at a hospital in Massachusetts, requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience and an active MA RN license.

Work in a 25-bed Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit encompassing L&D, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery (NBN), 2 ORs, 2 recovery rooms, and 2 ANU rooms with 4 beds
-
Patient population includes laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and newborns with an average daily census of 15–25
-
Nurse-to-patient ratios: L&D 1:2–3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, Magnesium drip, or epidural; Postpartum 1:3–4

Night shift schedule: 19:00–07:30

36-hour weekly schedule with every other weekend (EOW) requirement

13-week contract

No floating required

EMR: Epic (charting experience required)

Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted

Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required

Required certifications: BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only), NRP, and EFM (renewed every 2 years)

MGB EFM certification accepted from NCC, K2, or AWHONN with 2-year renewal

Skills required: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum care, OR circulating, and Newborn care

2 professional references required for consideration

Flu vaccine required — no religious or medical exemptions accepted

Responsibilities include caring for laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients across L&D, OR, recovery, and antepartum settings

Candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are considered local and subject to a reduced pay rate
