Jack’s Ornamental Iron, a trusted name in steel solutions for stairs, landings, ornamental products such as fence, guard rail (sloped or straight), and some pipe rail on commercial and multi-unit projects, is looking for a detail-driven Ornamental Fabricator/Welder to join our fast-paced Fabrication Shop Team. Each day, you’ll turn custom designs into finished work—reviewing blueprints, measuring and laying out materials, welding, grinding, and shaping steel components using power hand tools and overhead cranes. You’ll work alongside an experienced team on all light duty steel products for our customers in a loud, dusty, and sometimes hot or cold dynamic shop environment. As a result, we are looking for the ideal team player with a strong work ethic and a sharp eye for detail. This 4-day-a-week role (10-hour shifts, Monday–Thursday) is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on setting and isn’t afraid to get dirty to get the job done.

The Roles & Responsibilities of this position include:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints to measure, cut, and layout materials accurately for custom fabrication projects
- Welding, grinding, and shaping steel components using powered hand tools, welding equipment, and overhead cranes
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workstation while following standard shop procedures
- Performing quality checks to ensure fabricated pieces meet design specifications and company standards
- Completing daily assignments while contributing to a team-driven shop culture
The Skillsets & Qualifications for this job include:
- 2+ years’ experience fabricating railing, fencing or similar steel products
- 1–2 years of hands-on welding experience in a commercial shop environment
- 1+ years of experience reading blueprints and using standard measuring tools (tape measures, squares, protractors) with precision and attention to detail
- Skilled with powered hand tools such as grinders, dremels, belt sanders, and drills
- Comfortable using overhead cranes and working in loud, dusty, hot/cold environments, typically indoors and occasionally outdoors
- MIG welding proficiency a plus—Jack’s offers opportunities for 2G, 3G, and 4G D1.1 weld certifications
- Able to lift up to 100 lbs, follow standard procedures, and work independently with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated, dependable, with strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record for driving company vehicles from Jack’s to assigned job sites
- Drug test required as condition of employment
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Proper PPE (personal protective equipment) including, safety toe rated footwear, non flammable clothing, pants and long sleeved clothing required for daily work

Schedule:
- Full-time - 4 x 10 hrs/day; Monday thru Thursday
- Shift: 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Some overtime in busy seasons on Fridays; no weekend hours
Compensation: $ 22.00 to $ 25.00/hr based on demonstrable skill sets and years of work experience.
