Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant Intern to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Assist with data entry and maintenance of financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Workday.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Perform account reconciliations including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting tasks.
- Help prepare journal entries, conduct account analysis, and support double entry bookkeeping activities.
- Contribute to month-end closing procedures by assisting with account reconciliation and financial statement preparation.
- Support payroll management tasks utilizing systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian.
- Gain exposure to compliance standards such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), understanding their application in daily operations.
- Participate in financial audits and assist with documentation related to governmental or non-profit accounting as needed.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of basic financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and account analysis.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of payroll systems like ADP or Paychex is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing and double entry bookkeeping is desirable.
- Ability to analyze financial data critically while maintaining confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
