Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated respite providers for essential support and care of children ages 0 to 17 in various settings, including homes, out in the community, and at respite/support group events. The children and families we serve come to us navigating significant trauma, differing abilities, and/or the foster care/adoption process. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in their care. This role requires a blend of practical skills, emotional support, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse needs.
We are most in need of support at our childcare events including skilled childcare at support groups, Parent's Night Out and opportunities for caring for children in their homes as the need arises.
The schedule is flexible based on your availability. This is a great secondary income opportunity for those passionate about the population we serve.
Responsibilities
- One on one care for children served in their home.
- Care for our children at respite events, after school programs, and at support groups. We pride ourselves on maintaining a 2:1 ratio of staff to kids at any of the events we host.
- Assisting with ADLs and following the primary caregiver's lead on support for children served.
- Uphold confidentiality standards.
Skills
- First aid and CPR certification preferred. We offer in-house training for all employees at no cost once hired.
- Experience in caring for children with differing abilities and/or trauma backgrounds is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt to meet the child's needs.
- Familiarity with direct support services for individuals with disabilities is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting children with mobility needs.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with families and caregiving teams.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
