We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Labor & Employment Associate to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a broad spectrum of employment-related legal matters, including workplace compliance, employee relations, and litigation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in employment law, excellent research and negotiation skills, and a passion for advocating for fair labor practices. As a vital member of our legal department, you will provide strategic counsel, draft critical legal documents, and support the resolution of complex employment disputes. Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on employment law issues, including workplace policies, employee rights, and compliance with federal and state regulations
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, non-compete clauses, and other contractual documents
- Conduct thorough legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law related to employment practices using LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms
- Prepare for and assist in court depositions, trial preparations, and hearings related to employment disputes or personal injury cases
- Support litigation efforts by managing case files, drafting motions, and coordinating with external counsel as needed
- Advise on labor relations matters such as collective bargaining agreements and union negotiations
- Assist in developing training materials on employment law compliance and best practices for management and HR teams
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience in employment law case management, legal research, and litigation support
- Familiarity with estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, personal injury law, workers' compensation law, landord-tenant law, immigration law, and general & commercial litigation is highly desirable
- Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw; experience with procedural law knowledge is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior experience working in a law office environment or within a legal administrative capacity is advantageous
