Job Summary
The Regional Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational performance, customer satisfaction, financial results, safety, quality, and workforce management of multiple airport Operations & Maintenance (O&M) sites within an assigned region. This role provides oversight of site leaders, ensures contract compliance, promotes safety and regulatory adherence, and drives operational excellence across all airport locations.
The Regional Manager serves as the primary link between corporate leadership and field operations, ensuring consistency in service delivery, maintenance standards, employee performance, and client relationships. This position requires strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive, and customer-focused airport environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operational Leadership & Contract Management
- Provide direct oversight and leadership for multiple airport O&M locations within the assigned region.
- Ensure all sites operate in accordance with contractual obligations, company policies, airport authority requirements, and operational standards.
- Drive consistency in maintenance practices, service delivery, staffing models, and performance expectations across all assigned locations.
- Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions as needed to improve efficiency, reliability, and service quality.
- Support site teams in resolving operational issues, escalations, equipment failures, staffing shortages, and customer concerns.
- Financial Oversight & Business Administration
- Support annual budget preparation and monitor ongoing performance.
- Ensure financial accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Manage regional operating performance, including labor, overtime, materials, subcontractors, and budget controls.
- Review financial reports, site-level metrics, and key performance indicators to identify risks and opportunities.
- Develop and execute action plans to improve profitability, reduce waste, and support contract performance goals.
- Support contract renewals, startup transitions, and operational growth initiatives as needed.
Leadership & Management
- Oversee timekeeping accuracy, scheduling, performance management, and staffing within region.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing workforce while fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork and engagement.
- Support talent acquisition, succession planning, employee development, and workforce retention efforts.
- Identify opportunities to improve regional processes, maintenance programs, reporting standards, and operational workflows.
- Support implementation of new technologies, training initiatives, operational tools, and reporting processes.
- Lead by example in driving quality, consistency, responsiveness, and service excellence.
Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary regional liaison for customers, airport authorities, and stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring consistent service delivery.
- Lead business reviews, site visits, and performance discussions to drive customer satisfaction and contract success.
- Address customer concerns and escalations with urgency and professionalism.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, local airport authority requirements, company safety programs and applicable regulatory standards.
- Lead safety meetings, audits, training, risk assessments, and incident investigations and drive corrective actions based on performance trends.
- Promote and model a strong safety-first culture across all assigned locations, ensuring safety is never compromised for operational or financial outcom
- Ensure employees are properly trained, qualified, and authorized before performing assigned tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local and airport authority regulations, as well as company policies and contractual obligations.
- Perform additional duties/assignments as may be required by management.BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic knowledge of airport operations and maintenance.
- Ability to pass required background checks.
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- GED or High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Aviation Management, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive operations or maintenance leadership experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of multi-site leadership responsibility, preferably in airport operations, facilities maintenance, transportation systems, or a similar service environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing customer relationships, budgets, KPIs, and operational performance.
- Strong knowledge of safety practices, compliance requirements, and workforce leadership in a 24/7 operation.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive, union and/or non-union environment preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearances.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the company’s insurance policy
- Must comply with all company’s drug and alcohol policies
- Maintain airport badges and comply with airport authority rules.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced knowledge of airport operations and maintenance.
- Advanced administrative, communication and leadership skills and abilities, including verbal and written communication, judgment, organizational development, coaching, and counseling.
- 7+ years’ experience in contract administration.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years’ experience in a high-level service industry management position.
- Experience in airport-related O&M services, including support for baggage handling systems, passenger boarding bridges, ground support equipment, facilities maintenance, or related infrastructure.
- Experience managing service contracts and performance-based customer expectations.
- Working knowledge of FAA, TSA, airport authority requirements, or similar airport operational standards.
