Experienced Cook / Culinary Assistant
Chef Ken's Catering is seeking an experienced cook to join our growing personal chef and catering business in Seattle.
This position may be an excellent fit for someone who has spent years working in restaurants, hotels, country clubs, retirement communities, or catering and is looking for a more balanced and enjoyable culinary environment. If you're tired of late nights, working the line, and the constant restaurant grind, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
We are not looking for beginners. We are seeking a cook with solid culinary fundamentals, good judgment, strong taste buds, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare recipes accurately and consistently
- Follow written recipes and production instructions
- Assist with meal prep, portioning, packaging, and labeling
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Practice proper food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist with private chef events and small catering functions as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Work efficiently while paying attention to detail
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional cooking experience preferred
- Restaurant, hotel, club, catering, healthcare, or senior living culinary experience strongly preferred
- Strong knife skills and understanding of cooking fundamentals
- Ability to read, understand, and execute recipes accurately
- Excellent palate and attention to seasoning and flavor
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Current Food Handler Permit preferred
