Overview
Alex PT is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team. You'll be the first point of contact for our patients — providing exceptional customer service, managing patient information, and keeping the front end of our clinic running smoothly. The ideal candidate has strong phone etiquette, solid administrative skills, and experience in a healthcare setting.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations as needed
- Schedule appointments efficiently in our electronic health record system
- Answer incoming calls professionally, addressing patient questions and concerns with clarity
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and ensure compliance with health information protocols
- Collaborate with clinical staff to keep patient access to care seamless
- Perform administrative tasks as needed, including data entry and filing
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a receptionist or in a similar healthcare role preferred
- Insurance and authorization experience preferred
- Proficient with computer systems for data entry and scheduling
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and health regulations
