Puyana Plastic Surgery is a high-end, innovative, and growing aesthetic plastic surgery practice operating an accredited office-based surgical center. We are seeking an experienced Post-Operative Recovery Nurse (PACU RN) to provide safe, attentive, and compassionate care to patients recovering from surgical procedures.
This role is ideal for an RN with prior recovery or PACU experience who values patient safety, comfort, and high-quality post-operative care in a boutique surgical environment.
Position Summary
The Recovery Nurse is responsible for monitoring and caring for patients in the immediate post-operative period following anesthesia and surgery. This role ensures patient safety, comfort, and smooth recovery while adhering to accreditation standards, anesthesia protocols, and clinical best practices.
ResponsibilitiesPost-Operative Patient Care
- Monitor patients during the immediate post-operative recovery period
- Assess and document vital signs, level of consciousness, pain control, and recovery progression
- Administer medications as ordered and monitor for adverse reactions
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and dignity at all times
- Identify and respond promptly to post-operative complications or concerns
Recovery Room & Discharge
- Provide 1:1 patient monitoring during recovery as required
- Assist with patient discharge criteria and instructions
- Educate patients and caregivers on post-operative care, medications, and recovery expectations
- Communicate patient status clearly with the surgeon and anesthesia provider
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to AAAASF, HIPAA, OSHA, and facility policies
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Participate in safety protocols, emergency preparedness, and quality initiatives
- Ensure recovery area readiness, cleanliness, and organization
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the surgeon, anesthesia providers, OR staff, and clinical team
- Support smooth transitions from OR to recovery
- Promote a calm, reassuring environment for patients and families
Qualifications
Required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida
- ACLS certification
- Prior experience in PACU, recovery, surgical, or post-anesthesia care
- Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, compassionate demeanor
- Experience in plastic surgery or office-based surgical centers
Schedule
- Flexible hours
- Monday through Thursday
- Scheduled on operating days only

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
