Creditors’ rights law firm seeks full-time legal clerk for our Arizona office. The legal clerk will primarily be responsible for executing and monitoring the preparation of legal documents for collections matters. This candidate must be able to effectively communicate in a professional manner with staff and outside parties and manage a challenging workload in a high-volume legal environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
Supports Legal Operations by performing routine administrative, document, filing, calendaring, data entry, and case support tasks. This role works within established procedures, follows team direction, and coordinates with attorneys, leads, managers, and other departments to help move legal matters accurately and timely through assigned workflows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Prepare, review, edit, process, and route legal documents, correspondence, filings, and related case materials in accordance with firm and client requirements.
· Request, receive, review, and organize documentation from clients, courts, vendors, attorneys, and internal departments.
· Maintain accurate electronic files, case notes, account statuses, calendars, task queues, and internal system data.
· File, serve, monitor, and follow up on legal filings and court or vendor activity, escalating rejections, delays, or exceptions promptly.
· Communicate updates, requests, issues, and next steps clearly with attorneys, managers, collectors, clients, courts, vendors, and internal departments.
· Follow established workflows, client requirements, court rules, compliance standards, and firm policies and procedures.
· Prioritize assigned work to meet deadlines in a high-volume legal operations environment.
· Maintain regular time and attendance and perform other duties as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
· 1+ year of legal office, legal operations, litigation support, collections, or administrative experience preferred.
· Basic understanding of legal documents, court filings, calendaring, and case management processes preferred.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and able to learn case management, e-filing, and client systems.
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Ability to follow instructions, ask questions when needed, and manage multiple assigned tasks.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
· Dependable attendance, strong work ethic, and motivation to complete assigned tasks by deadlines.
