Part-Time Cook/Dietary Aide position in Springvale Independent Living. This position is scheduled to work Mondays and two additional days each week from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, plus every other weekend from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Rotating holiday shifts.

Job Title: Cook/Dietary Aide
Primary Function and Relationship to Total Organization:
Cook - Responsible for making homemade meals for the residents and keeping the kitchen organized and clean.
Dietary Aide – Will provide assistance to the Head Cook in preparing the noon meal, setting up the dining room, and cleaning of both dining room and kitchen. Sets up and leads the afternoon activity for the tenants.
Both positions - Provides an atmosphere in which the tenants are fulfilled and thriving.
Reports to: Manager of Springvale Independent Living

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Opening up the kitchen and dining room on cook days

Getting breakfast items out for tenants on cook days

Checking all temps (dishwasher/refrigerator/freezers)

Noon meal preparation for approximately 50 tenants

Assist in serving the noon meal

Clean dishes from lunch

Maintaining food and supplies

Help with menu planning

Assist with cleaning responsibilities

Provide assistance to head cook as needed

Cleans up and do dishes from breakfast meal

Restock dining room from breakfast

Cleans and sets up dining room for lunch meal

Cleans up dining room after lunch meal

Sets up and leads afternoon activity with the tenants

Dependent Adult Abuse(DAA) training to be completed within 90 days of hire.

Successful completion of BCLS within 3 months of hire.

Cooking experience and previous work with Seniors is preferred

ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
