At Severna Park Children's Centre (SPCC), we believe the first years of life are the most important. What You'll Do
As an Infant & Toddler Lead Teacher, you will:
- Create a warm, loving, and engaging classroom where every child feels secure and cared for.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, hands-on learning experiences using our curriculum while adapting activities to meet each child's individual needs.
- Foster children's cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development through play, sensory exploration, music, movement, and meaningful interactions.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families through daily communication and collaboration.
- Maintain consistent classroom routines for feeding, diapering, toileting, naps, and transitions while promoting each child's growing independence.
- Observe and document developmental milestones, using assessments to individualize learning opportunities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and administration to provide the highest quality care and education.
- Follow all Maryland Office of Child Care licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and mandated reporting requirements.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continue growing as an early childhood educator.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed child care or preschool setting. (This is a must)
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Experience planning engaging lesson plans and implementing early childhood curriculum.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Completion of Maryland Office of Child Care required trainings or willingness to complete upon hire.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and actively engage with young children throughout the day.

License/Certification:
- Infant and Toddler CDA/ 90 Hour Certificate (Required)
Work Location: In person
