Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care, including vital signs assessment, medication administration, wound suturing, IV infusion, and aseptic technique adherence.
- Assist with specialized treatments such as Botulinum toxin procedures and ophthalmology-related care.
- Manage patient records using EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Coordinate scheduling for staff and patients, optimize workflow efficiency, and handle administrative tasks related to patient intake, discharge planning, and triage.
- Support patients with complex needs such as long-term care, memory care, behavioral health, and geriatrics, along with post surgical wound care and recovery.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and basic medical imaging procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), ICU/CCU units, neonatal resuscitation procedures, and outpatient clinics to deliver high-quality care.
- Educate patients on health coaching topics like nutrition, pain management, medication adherence, and post-acute care instructions.
- Maintain sterile processing standards for ostomy care supplies or dermal fillers when applicable.
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude willing to show compassion, companionship, and manage light housekeeping/meal preparation, along with bathing and grooming
Experience
- Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospital settings (including trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health agencies.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic and Cerner; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding and CPT coding is preferred.
- Critical care experience in ICU or emergency room settings; trauma medicine or Level I/II trauma center background highly desirable.
- Skilled in advanced procedures such as catheterization (cardiac or urinary), tube feeding management, ventilator support, spinal tap techniques, or neonatal ventilator operation.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays
- Ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique and patient safety.
- Prior roles involving case management, discharge planning, or occupational health contribute to a well-rounded skill set for this position.
