Field Construction Safety Manager
Location: New Albany, OH

Type: 1099 Contractor
Pay Rate: $52/hr
Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week)
Completion Bonus: $150/month

Join a contractor supporting a large-scale data center construction project in New Albany, OH. This role provides hands-on field safety oversight across multiple active scopes of work, including trenching, excavation, concrete construction, site development, and potentially electrical activities.
The Field Construction Safety Manager will maintain a strong field presence while working directly with craft personnel, subcontractors, and project supervision to identify hazards, ensure OSHA compliance, and support safe execution of multiple construction activities in a fast-paced data center environment.
CHST Certification
OSHA 510 Certification
OSHA 30 Construction Certification
Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
Experience supporting excavation, trenching, and concrete construction activities
Data center or mission-critical construction experience
Excavation/Trenching Competent Person experience
Heavy civil or site development experience
Concrete construction safety experience
Electrical construction safety experience
NFPA 70E and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) knowledge

Provide daily field safety oversight across multiple construction scopes

Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas

Monitor trenching, excavation, concrete, and site development activities

Support electrical construction activities as project scope progresses

Conduct routine site inspections, audits, field observations, and hazard assessments
-
Monitor heavy equipment and mobile equipment operations
-
Verify excavation protective systems, access/egress, spoil placement, and changing site conditions

Monitor concrete placement, reinforcing, formwork, and related activities
-
Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans

Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements

Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions

Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel

Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation

Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports

Coordinate safety activities with subcontractors, project supervision, and site leadership

Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project
