Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian/Maintenance Worker to keep our facilities clean, safe, and well-maintained. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Operate floor buffers and other floor care machinery to maintain polished, safe surfaces.
- Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes, adhering to all safety protocols and handling instructions.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks using proper techniques to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed for maintenance or cleaning.
- Carry out routine custodial duties such as trash removal, dusting, window washing, and restocking supplies.
- Assist with general facilities maintenance including minor repairs, painting (residential or commercial), and upkeep of building fixtures.
- Follow safe lifting practices during manual handling tasks to prevent injury and ensure efficiency in daily operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial work with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning procedures.
- Skilled in handling chemical agents safely with an understanding of proper storage and disposal methods.
- Ability to operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other cleaning machinery effectively.
- Strong manual handling skills with experience in heavy lifting and safe lifting practices.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting projects.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, safety standards, and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
