Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health status is maintained
- Provide medication reminders and support medication administration under supervision or according to facility protocols
- Support residents with dementia or memory care needs through engaging activities and behavior management strategies
- Help with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and maintaining a clean, safe dining environment
- Conduct regular safety checks and assist with emergency procedures, including first aid when needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to track resident progress and care activities
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home & community care environments
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
- Ability to perform personal care tasks safely and compassionately while respecting resident dignity
- Familiarity with vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic health monitoring techniques
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Experience using EMR systems for documentation and record keeping
- Valid driver’s license for driving residents or running errands as needed (nice-to-have)
- Capable of physical tasks such as lifting using Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility needs
