We are seeking a skilled and reliable experienced Welders to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding metal components and parts, following blueprints, and ensuring high-quality welds while maintaining a safe work environment. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and experience with dual shield flux core welding in 4G and 5G positions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding tasks using dual shield flux core welding techniques in 4G and 5G positions to join metal parts and components.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications to determine the proper welding procedures.
- Inspect workpieces for defects or inconsistencies before welding.
- Ensure proper operation of welding equipment.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS) preferred.
- Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years welding experience and 4 of those years must in structural steel welding.
- Experience in UT, PT and MT welding is a plus and preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot welding issues.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Spanish-speaking or bilingual applicants are preferred.
- Arc gouging experience is preferred.
- STICK , MIG , TIG , Hardwire is a plus.
Additional Information:
- Applicants will be required to perform a weld test to demonstrate their skills following an interview. This test must be scheduled in advance and is not available on a walk-in basis.
- The schedule for the night shift position is 4pm-1:30am with a half hour lunch break.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including welding helmet, gloves, and appropriate clothing.
Weld Test Requirements:
- Candidates must pass an evaluation test in 3F and 4F both FCAW and GWAW.
- 0 tolerance for overlap or undercut.
Hammer Haag Steel is a DRUG FREE facility. Employees are subject to random drug tests and must complete a drug test as part of the application process.
Pay: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
