CBC Global (CBC) is a manufacturer of galvanizing kettles and related products to the continuous strip and hot-dip galvanizing industries. We manufacture specialty horizontal and vertical cylinders, tanks, DOT, and ASME pressure vessels for pressurized gases and liquids, up to 5,000 PSI in various capacities. CBC also has the manufacturing resources to custom design and fabricate heavy-plate products of all types. In all cases we are the only producer of our products in the US and in some cases the world.
We now have an opening on our team for a Welding Process Improvement Leader who will work with driving welding process improvements in our facility by introducing advanced welding automation, robotics, efficiency improvements, training and mentoring on these new technologies, and optimizing the process.
This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity offering a schedule of Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and a compensation package commensurate with experience including an excellent benefits package. This company provides a friendly and progressive culture.
Responsibilities and duties of this position include but are not limited to:
- Analyze and improve welding process capability and throughput across both carbon and stainless steel welding areas.
- Evaluate and introduce advanced welding automation, robotics, and semi automation opportunities.
- Train and mentor production welders on new technologies, best practices, efficient techniques, adoption of new welding technologies, and quality standards.
- Lead lean and continuous improvement projects to optimize welding efficiencies
- Testing & Implementation of welding processes such as electro gas welding, Bug-O welding, Mig welding, and Cobot Welding.
- Analyze KPI's like First Pass Yield, Arc Time, Consumable use, and Rework
- Perform root cause analysis for weld defects to create improvement opportunities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing welding systems.
- Collaboration with Quality Department and others to develop and maintain process documentation, including standard work instructions and process control plans.
- Evaluate new equipment, tools, and materials to support innovation in welding and fabrication.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge and prior experience with arc welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SMAW)
- 3-7 years experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or welding process development environment.
- Experience with welding automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement strategies.
- Ability to work both independently as well as with the team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
