Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

PRN
Provides evaluation of assigned patients and plans, implements, and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures, performs patient testing, administers medications within the RN scope of practice, and promotes patient independence through education and care planning.

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Current Mississippi RN licensure required.

BLS certification required.
-
ACLS and PALS certifications required (or within 30 days of hire for new certifications and prior to independent patient care assignments).

TNCC required for new certifications after one year of emergency nursing experience.

CPI certification required within 90 days of hire.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

One (1) year of emergency or critical care nursing experience strongly preferred.

ATLS certification strongly preferred.

Evaluate assigned patients and develop nursing care plans.

Implement and document nursing care accurately and timely.

Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.

Perform patient testing and administer medications within RN scope of practice.

Educate patients and families regarding conditions, medications, and self-care skills.

Promote patient safety and quality outcomes in the emergency department.

Maintain current licensure and certifications.
-
Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork.

Follow hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift.

Ability to respond rapidly in emergency situations.

Ability to assist with patient movement, transfers, and positioning.
