Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, hard working, and reliable Soil Sample Technician to join our team. This role involves collecting soil samples throughout the region for various farming operations. The ideal candidate will an ability to perform hard labor (walking long distances, carrying up to 50 pounds at times, etc.), good team work ethic, an ability to follow directions from supervisors, and an ability to be be adaptable and cross-functional to changing work environments and tasks.
Responsibilities
- Collect soil samples from farming sites following established protocols to ensure sample integrity and accuracy.
- Conduct quality inspections of soil samples and testing procedures to maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Record detailed data during sample collection and testing processes, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Assist with farming site inspections related to soil stability, compaction, and foundation suitability.
- Support quality control efforts by verifying sample consistency and adherence to project specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of headquarters, equipment and sampling tools.
Qualifications
- Prior laboratory experience or coursework related to soil analysis or agricultural experiences is a plus, but not required
- Ability to walk long distances, lift up to 50 pounds, and work outdoors on farm sites in varying weather conditions.
- Working well with other coworkers and supervisors.
- Basic understanding of GPS systems to navigate farming sites.
- Power tool operation experience
- ATV and motorcycle operation experience a plus, but not required.
- Valid driver's license
