The Fourth Bore Tap Room in Orinda is now hiring professional career minded Hosts & Reservationists for our popular restaurant located in Orinda's Theatre Square.
Now entering our 10th year in Orinda, the Fourth Bore features neo-Neapolitan style pizza, American Comfort Food favorite such as our golden fried Cheese Curds, an incredible 28 tap beer lineup, and funky craft cocktails. We pay our employees once a week and tips are wired same day directly to your debit card or existing bank account. We offer meal discounts both during your shift and off-duty. With live music Thursday through Saturday nights 8 months a year and a rabid following, we get very busy and with our core demographic our host have exposure to an incredibly energetic atmosphere. 2 years of full-service restaurant host experience is required to be considered for this position. This is the ideal position for an experienced professional host looking for a full-time type position in an environment that rewards hustle. We are NOT a tip pool restaurant. Our hosts are tipped out by the server and bar staff and walk home with their own tips every day.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service Excellence:
- Greet and welcome guests with warmth and enthusiasm.
- Provide detailed information about the menu items, specials, and beverage offerings when guest call or inquire at the front door.
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in guests' experience in person and on the phone.
- Anticipate and respond to guest needs promptly and professionally.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with server, bartender and kitchen staff and other team members to ensure seamless communication about the pace of the restaurant.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to manage guest flow and optimize table turnover.
- Contribute to a positive and cohesive team environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years proven experience as a Host in a high-volume, casual dining establishment.
- Exceptional communication and hospitality skills with a customer-centric mindset.
- In-depth knowledge of the food and beverage business.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

In addition to the above skills, the host position may require but is not limited to the following:
- Answering phones and accommodating guests
- Clearing, cleaning, and resetting of the restaurant
- Welcoming and Seating guests in a timely manner
- Rolling Silverware
- Stocking and restocking various areas of the restaurant
- Sweeping and Maintaining floor areas
Candidates must be available on weekends for this position.
Must be able to work on feet for up to 6 hours straight.
