Job Overview
Join our team as a class A CDL Delivery Truck Driver and become a vital link in delivering material across diverse routes along the I-10 corridor in Louisiana. This energetic role consists of loading, delivering and unloading building material to our customers residentail construcion sites, while using either a tractor trailer or box truck. You’ll be responsible for safely transporting goods, loading and unloading cargo, and ensuring timely deliveries that keep our customers satisfied.
This position involves manual labor; picking up, moving, loading and unloading a varity of items and material such as wood products, doors, trim/ moldings, windows and glass products along with other building material.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers across assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Manually load and unload building material, forklifts when possible and ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit.
- Deliver goods to various residential construction sites.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to confirm vehicle safety and readiness; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including proof of delviery pictures. Must be able to read and delivery material accurately and without damaging customers products.
- Communicate effectively with salesperson and office to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during transit.
- Basic warehouse duties sush as pulling material for deliveries, assist customers, and maintaining company vehicles as needed.
- Schudule can vary depending on delivery schedule, delivery locations and customer demand. Ranging from 430am - 5pm on delviery days, and shop days being from 7am - 330pm. M-F. NO WEEKENDS.
Skills
- Proven experience driving commercial vehicles, and must have 2-3 years of driving expererince.
- Strong knowledge of route driving strategies and load & unload procedures to optimize efficiency.
- Ability to perform truck driving tasks safely while managing freight handling equipment such as forklifts.
- Excellent navigation skills for route planning and adherence to schedules under tight deadlines.
- Good physical condition for lifting cargo and performing vehicle inspections; comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with freight transportation is preferred.
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
