Social Media & Content CoordinatorCome Make Speech Therapy a Little Less Boring on Social Media
Next Level Speech Therapy (NLST) is looking for a creative, social-media-obsessed Social Media & Content Coordinator to join our team in person in Phoenix, Arizona.
We're an SLP-owned and operated company providing school-based speech-language pathology services to districts across the country. We're growing, we're doing things differently, and we want our social media to actually feel like us.
That means less corporate stock photography.
Less "Happy National Insert-Something-Here Day!" graphics.
More personality. More people. More storytelling. More creativity. More content that makes an SLP stop scrolling and think:
"Wait...who is NLST?"
What You'll Do
You'll help own the day-to-day creation and execution of NLST's social media presence, working closely with our leadership, clinical, recruiting, and sales teams to turn what's happening inside NLST—and what's happening in the SLP world—into content people actually want to watch.
Create Content
- Film and edit short-form video content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
- Create Reels, TikToks, stories, graphics, carousels, photos, and behind-the-scenes content.
- Regularly film content with NLST leadership, team members, providers, and others.
- Turn everyday moments, conversations, trends, and ideas into engaging content.
- Help team members feel comfortable on camera and make filming easy and fun.
- Capture content at company events, meetings, conferences, and other NLST activities when appropriate.
- Repurpose strong content across platforms while adapting it to fit each audience.
Become an Expert on the SLP Audience
You don't need to be a speech-language pathologist—but you do need to understand them.
A major part of this role will be actively researching and immersing yourself in the speech-language pathology community so the content you create actually resonates with the people we're trying to reach.
You'll be expected to:
- Learn the language, humor, challenges, and day-to-day realities of SLPs and SLPAs—especially those working in schools.
- Regularly research what speech therapists are talking about online and what topics are gaining traction.
- Follow SLP creators, influencers, professional organizations, social communities, and other places where SLPs are active.
- Understand current trends specifically within the speech therapy community—not just general social media trends.
- Identify emerging conversations, memes, frustrations, hot topics, and trends within the profession.
- Understand what school-based SLPs care about throughout the school year, including caseloads, scheduling, IEPs, evaluations, documentation, progress reports, meetings, workload, school breaks, and end-of-year craziness.
- Identify broader TikTok, Instagram, and social trends that could be creatively adapted into relatable SLP content.
- Pay attention to what other companies in the SLP, education, teletherapy, and staffing spaces are doing while helping NLST develop a voice that is distinctly our own.
- Bring ideas to leadership based on what you're seeing rather than waiting for someone to tell you what SLPs are talking about.
- Develop enough familiarity with the profession to recognize when something will feel authentic to an SLP—and when it won't.
We want you to become a student of our audience.
If there's a trend taking off in the SLP community, we want you to know about it. If SLPs suddenly can't stop talking about something, we want to understand why. If there's a broader social trend that could become hilarious or highly relatable SLP content, we want you thinking about how NLST can put our own spin on it.
The goal isn't just to understand social media.
It's to understand social media through the eyes of a speech-language pathologist.
Stay Ahead of Social Media Trends
We don't want to discover a trend three weeks after everyone else has already done it.
You'll:
- Monitor TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and emerging platforms for trends and opportunities.
- Recognize trending sounds, formats, hooks, memes, conversations, and content styles early.
- Determine which trends fit NLST and which ones we should skip.
- Pitch creative ideas regularly.
- Move quickly when a trend has a short window of relevance.
- Experiment with new formats and concepts instead of doing the same thing over and over.
- Balance timely/trending content with evergreen content that continues to provide value.
Manage Our Social Channels
- Help build and maintain NLST's social media calendar.
- Schedule and publish content consistently.
- Write captions that sound like a human—not a corporate marketing department.
- Monitor comments, messages, tags, and engagement.
- Engage appropriately with SLP creators and the broader speech therapy community.
- Help NLST actively participate in conversations rather than simply broadcasting content.
- Maintain a recognizable NLST voice while allowing each platform to feel native to its audience.
Tell the NLST Story
There are a lot of staffing companies.
We want people to understand why NLST is different.
You'll help create content around:
- What it's actually like to work with NLST.
- Provider stories and spotlights.
- School-based SLP life.
- Recruiting and open positions.
- Behind-the-scenes company moments.
- SLP humor and highly relatable content.
- Clinical education and resources.
- Company culture.
- District partnerships.
- Leadership and founder content.
- The realities of building and growing an SLP-owned company.
- Wins, milestones, celebrations, and the people making them happen.
Support Recruiting Through Social Media
Social media should do more than generate likes—it should help us find amazing people.
You'll partner with recruiting to:
- Create engaging content around open SLP and SLPA opportunities.
- Develop creative recruiting campaigns that don't feel like generic job advertisements.
- Showcase different districts, states, and opportunities.
- Highlight NLST providers and their experiences.
- Help build a community of SLPs who know NLST before they're ever looking for a job.
- Develop content specifically designed to attract passive candidates.
- Track which content generates candidate interest and applications.
Track What's Working
Creativity matters, but so do results.
You'll monitor:
- Reach and impressions.
- Engagement.
- Audience growth.
- Video views and watch time.
- Shares and saves.
- Website traffic from social media.
- Candidate leads.
- Recruiting campaign performance.
- Content trends over time.
You'll use those insights to help us do more of what works and less of what doesn't.
Who We're Looking For
You don't necessarily need 10 years of marketing experience.
We care much more about whether you get social media, understand how to create great content, and are willing to become obsessed with understanding our audience.
You may be perfect for this role if:
- You're constantly sending people Reels and TikToks saying, "We need to do this."
- You naturally notice what is trending online.
- You're curious about why certain content takes off.
- You can research an audience and quickly start understanding its inside jokes, pain points, language, and culture.
- You're comfortable filming and directing other people.
- You know how to make someone who hates being on camera look natural.
- You can shoot and edit engaging short-form video quickly.
- You understand hooks, pacing, captions, storytelling, and retention.
- You're creative but organized enough to maintain a content calendar.
- You're willing to test things that might not work.
- You understand that not every piece of content needs to look perfectly polished.
- You're comfortable telling leadership, "No, don't say it like that. Do it again."
- You can take a random idea someone says in the hallway and turn it into a Reel by the end of the day.
Most importantly:
You create rather than wait to be told what to create.
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing social media accounts for a company, organization, creator, or personal brand.
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Experience creating and editing short-form video.
- Comfortable using Canva and video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar platforms.
- Strong writing and copywriting skills.
- Photography and basic videography skills.
- Understanding of social media analytics.
- Ability to independently research an industry and its target audience.
- Experience with employer branding, recruiting marketing, healthcare, education, staffing, or professional services is a bonus.
- Knowledge of speech-language pathology is an even bigger bonus—but definitely not required.
What We'd Love to See
Instead of only sending us a traditional resume, show us what you can do.
Send us:
- Your resume.
- Links to social accounts or brands you've helped manage.
- Examples of videos or content you've created.
- A portfolio, if you have one.
And if you really want to get our attention:
Send us one idea for a Reel or TikTok you would create for NLST.
Bonus points if you research us and the SLP community first.
We want to see how you think.
Why In Person?
This role is intentionally based in person in Phoenix, Arizona because we don't want our social media person sitting 1,000 miles away waiting for someone to send them content.
We want you in the room.
We want you to be able to grab a camera when something funny happens, pull someone into a quick Reel, capture a conversation, brainstorm an idea on the spot, and turn the actual personality of NLST into content.
Some of the best content isn't scheduled three weeks in advance.
It happens because someone creative was there to capture it.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 6–12 months:
- NLST has a recognizable and consistent social media personality.
- Our content feels noticeably more human, current, and engaging.
- You understand the SLP community well enough to independently identify content opportunities.
- You're bringing SLP trends to us—not the other way around.
- We're consistently participating in relevant trends while they are still relevant.
- Our audience and engagement are growing.
- SLPs regularly interact with, tag, send, and share our content.
- Candidates tell us, "I've been following you guys for a while."
- Social media becomes a measurable source of recruiting leads.
- Leadership isn't constantly asking, "What should we post this week?"
- You have a running list of more content ideas than we could possibly film.
Most importantly, when an SLP sees an NLST post, we want them to know it's NLST before they even see the logo.
If you're creative, quick, organized, a little obsessed with social media, willing to become equally obsessed with understanding speech therapists, and excited about building a brand rather than simply maintaining one, we'd love to hear from you.
