Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dental team in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and chairside assisting techniques. The Dental Assistant will work closely with both patients and dental professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow within the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable environment for patients.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop X-rays as required, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for medical documentation and scheduling.
- Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging when necessary.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Support pediatric dentistry needs with appropriate techniques tailored for children.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Familiarity with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures including prosthodontics and endodontics.
- Proficiency in taking X-rays and understanding medical imaging processes.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate medical records.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients of all ages.
- Understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques is essential.
