Job Summary:
We are seeking a responsible and caring Bus Aide to assist with the transportation of students on our school buses in Monmouth and Ocean County. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and ensuring their safety during their daily commutes. The Bus Aide will play a vital role in maintaining a positive and respectful environment for all students, while also supporting the school's mission to provide a nurturing and inclusive educational experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the school bus driver in ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus environment, including ensuring all trash is removed and the bus is clean and free of debris.
- Provide support to students who may require assistance during their daily commute, such as helping them with their belongings.
- Monitor student behavior and address any disruptions or misbehavior in a calm and respectful manner.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure a smooth and efficient bus ride.
- Educate students on proper bus safety procedures, including the use of seatbelts and the importance of staying seated during the bus ride.
- Assist in the management of classroom behavior and ensure that students are respectful and considerate of one another.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, including students with behavioral challenges.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move around the bus to assist students as needed.
- Must be 18 years or older
