A hotel housekeeper's job is to keep a hotel clean and tidy, and to ensure that the hotel is well-functioning:
- Cleaning rooms: Dust, vacuum, mop, and sweep rooms, including carpets, furniture, and curtains
- Cleaning bathrooms: Use antibacterial cleaners to scrub tiles, clean taps, and ensure mirrors and glass are spotless
- Cleaning common areas: Clean the lobby and other common areas
- Laundry: Wash, disinfect, pillowcases, duvets, and other items
- Replacing toiletries: Replace toiletries in rooms
- Maintaining equipment: Wipe and sanitize electrical equipment, such as TVs and remotes
- Replacing batteries and light bulbs: Replace batteries and light bulbs throughout the hotel
- Representing the hotel: Interact with guests in a friendly and polite manner, and help with questions or requests
