Road Scholar has been providing educational tours for over 50 years in every state and 150 countries, as a local provider/partner for Road Scholar based in Rapid City, SD we are excited to be hiring additional enthusiastic, educated, hard working tour leaders for 9 night/10day Motorcoach tours.
Tours:
- Tours operate June-September and each Tour Leader is assigned a minimum of 3 dates per season. A "training tour" will be required with a moderate stipend.
- 9 night/10 day motorcoach tour traveling through Black Hills, Yellowstone/Grand Tetons
- 9 night/10 day motorcoach tour traveling through South and North Dakota
- All of our trips begin and end in Rapid City, SD

Responsibilities:
- Tour Leaders are on the road for several days/nights and work long days-early morning through dinner or later with guests. Some of the duties include: solving problems with hotels, restaurants, and guests, loading and unloading Motorcoach supplies, setting up meals, cleaning up after activities and of course narrating the entire tour with local history, stories and group activities.
- Tour Leaders are responsible for researching, learning and creating their own commentary.
Candidates:
- Candidates must possess extensive knowledge/history of the areas in which we travel. Our guests always look forward to "local experts" and personal stories
- College degree preferred
- Retirees encouraged to apply
- Time and group management skills
- Comfortable with public speaking and group directing
- Stamina and the physical ability to work long hours
- Previous Tour Leader experience preferred
- Candidates can also apply as "couples" as many of our Tour Leaders enjoy sharing their duties and fun with their significant other
- Candidates must reside in or near Rapid City, SD
- Road Scholar requires all Tour Leaders to pass a background/drug/creditworthiness test
Compensation:
- Competitive pay and performance based bonus incentives (Paid per tour)
- Hotel rooms and meals included while on tour
