Shop Foreman – Aerospace Precision Machine Shop
We are a family-oriented, ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D-certified aerospace machine shop seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to help lead our team and support daily production operations. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and understands the importance of preparation, organization, quality, and teamwork in aerospace manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily shop floor operations
- Ensure tooling, fixtures, materials, and setups are prepared and ready for each scheduled job
- Support machinists and operators with production priorities and troubleshooting
- Help maintain efficient workflow to support on-time delivery commitments
- Monitor job progress, setup readiness, and production schedules
- Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and customer requirements
- Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work closely with management, quality, and production teams to resolve issues quickly
- Lead by example and help foster a positive team culture
Qualifications
- 5+ years of machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment
- Aerospace machining experience preferred
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of CNC machining, tooling, setups, and shop workflow
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Computer proficient and comfortable using manufacturing software, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office programs
- Comfortable completing and supporting customer and compliance surveys and audits (including aerospace customer requirements such as Boeing supplier surveys)
- Experience working with tight tolerances and quality-driven production
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Self-motivated with a proactive, team-first attitude
