Registered Nurse Float Psych
Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts
Pay Rate: $60/hr
Contract: 13 weeks
Schedule: Night shift, 11:00 PM 7:30 AM,
Total Working Hours per week: 40 hours
Experience: Minimum 1 year of inpatient psych experience
About the Role
We are hiring an experienced Registered Nurse Float Psych for a 13-week night shift assignment in Holyoke, MA. This role supports inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health patients and requires a nurse who is comfortable floating to similar or lower-acuity units and taking charge when needed.
Responsibilities
Provide direct and indirect psychiatric nursing care.
Maintain a safe, therapeutic, trauma-informed care environment.
Support adult/adolescent behavioral health and substance use treatment needs.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Help develop, implement, and document patient goals and interventions.
Use de-escalation and crisis intervention skills when needed.
Float to similar or lower-acuity units as required.
Take charge responsibilities when assigned.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams.
Maintain professional boundaries and support patient-centered care.
Requirements
Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse license required at submission.
Minimum 1 year of inpatient psych experience required.
CPR certification required.
Psychiatric/substance abuse inpatient experience preferred.
Restraint reduction, de-escalation, or crisis intervention experience preferred.
Must be willing to float.
Must be willing to take charge.
Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
No RTO can be approved for this 13-week assignment.
Strong critical thinking, communication, time management, and teamwork skills required.
