Job Overview
We are looking for a dependable Painter Assistant to support our painters with preparation, job site setup, and basic painting tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build hands-on experience in the residential painting trade and grow their skills over time.
Please note: This position is heavily focused on exterior work at heights. The majority of the work will involve working from ladders while painting soffits, fascia, gutters, and roofline areas. Applicants must be comfortable and confident working at heights on a daily basis.
Work takes place at residential job sites throughout Western Massachusetts, typically within a one-hour radius of Hatfield, MA. You will be responsible for traveling to scheduled job locations. Each shift begins and ends at the job site.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting (sanding, scraping, patching, cleaning)
- Mask and protect surrounding areas
- Set up and maintain clean, organized job sites
- Move materials, ladders, and equipment as needed
- Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment
- Follow safety procedures on job sites
- Perform interior and exterior painting, with a strong focus on exterior work at heights
Requirements:
- No experience necessary
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts and on top of roofs
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
