Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to develop, plan and implement recreational programs for the city of Montgomery. Job incumbents will also supervise volunteers during on-going activities. The work responsibilities of this classification are: plans, coordinates and implements daily general recreation programs for individuals; assists in the coordination of transportation to and from the facilities and out of town trips; coordinates and supervises the activities of Recreation Aides and volunteers; maintains daily and weekly records, reports, forms, equipment, materials and supplies used for program activity. The Recreation Leader I reports to the Recreation Leader II.
High school diploma or GED equivalent and one (1) year of experience in an organized recreational programs.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends. Employment is conditioned upon applicants acquiring and maintaining a commercial driver's license (CDL) in accordance with the provisions of the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986 and providing a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) from the Department of Public Safety as proof of an insurable driving record. CDL must be obtained within six (6) months of employment.
