About Parkside Pups
Parkside Pups is seeking an organized, reliable, and enthusiastic Field Supervisor and Marketing Assistant to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about dogs, communicates effectively, enjoys creating engaging content, and is comfortable working in a dynamic role where no two days are the same.
The Field Supervisor and Marketing Assistant will support the oversight of the quality and consistency of our daily pet care services while supporting the company’s community outreach, social media, and local marketing efforts. This position includes a combination of fieldwork, team support, client communication, and marketing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Supervision and Service Support
- Route Coverage: Step in as needed to walk dogs, provide pet-sitting services, or assist with logistics when a team member is unable to complete a scheduled service.
- Staff Training and Onboarding: Accompany and train new team members, ensuring that they understand and uphold Parkside Pups’ safety procedures, service expectations, and pet care standards.
- Quality Assurance: Observe team members in the field, monitor service quality, and provide constructive coaching and feedback to maintain consistent, high-quality pet care.
- Client and Team Communication: Serve as a point of contact for real-time service updates, client needs, scheduling changes, and walker coordination.
- New Client Support: Assist with new-client consultations, pup meet-and-greets, and introductions between clients, dogs, and assigned walkers.
- Safety and Incident Support: Help address service concerns, safety issues, and unexpected situations in a calm, timely, and professional manner.
Marketing and Community Outreach
- Social Media Content: Capture and create engaging photos, videos, captions, and other content that highlights Parkside Pups’ services, team members, clients, and community involvement.
- Content Planning: Assist with organizing and maintaining a consistent social media content calendar across Parkside Pups’ platforms.
- Community Events: Help plan, promote, set up, and attend Parkside Pups events, neighborhood gatherings, and other community outreach opportunities.
- Local Marketing: Distribute flyers and promotional materials throughout designated Brooklyn neighborhoods and identify potential local outreach opportunities.
- Promotional Campaigns: Support seasonal promotions, referral initiatives, client communications, and other campaigns designed to increase brand awareness and attract new clients.
- Brand Representation: Represent Parkside Pups professionally and positively when communicating online, attending events, meeting potential clients, and interacting with neighborhood businesses.
- Marketing Support: Assist with tracking social media engagement, new inquiries, event participation, and other basic results from marketing activities.
What We Are Looking For
- Professional Animal Experience: Previous professional experience working with dogs in a dog-walking, boarding, daycare, training, veterinary, or similar pet care environment.
- Dog Handling Skills: Experience with pack walking and a basic understanding of dog behavior, body language, and safe handling practices.
- Marketing Interest or Experience: Experience or demonstrated interest in social media, content creation, photography, video, event promotion, community outreach, or small-business marketing.
- Dependability: Punctual, responsible, calm under pressure, and prepared to lead by example.
- Strong Communication Skills: Friendly, responsive, and professional in both written and verbal communication.
- Creativity: Able to identify engaging stories, moments, and ideas that reflect the Parkside Pups brand.
- Multitasking Ability: Comfortable balancing field coverage, team needs, client communication, and marketing assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership Skills: Able to provide direction, feedback, and support to team members in a respectful and constructive manner.
- Technology Skills: Comfortable using smartphones, social media platforms, scheduling systems, messaging applications, and basic content-creation tools.
- Team-Oriented Mindset: Committed to supporting the Parkside Pups team and providing an excellent experience for the clients and pets we serve.
- Training Requirements: Pet First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to complete the required training.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between client locations throughout Parkside Pups’ Brooklyn service area.
Compensation and Benefits
$20-$22 per hour, plus tips
Approximately 20-25 hours per week
Monday through Friday schedule between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM
Paid sick time
One week of paid training
