Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Payment Poster to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical billing, accounts receivable, and financial data entry, with proficiency in various accounting software and medical terminology. This role involves accurately posting payments, reconciling accounts, and supporting the revenue cycle management process to ensure timely and precise financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately and timely
- Process ERAs (Electronic Remittance Advices) and EOBs (Explanation of Benefits)
- Reconcile payments and identify discrepancies
- Research and resolve payment posting issues and denials
- Maintain accurate patient account records
- Communicate effectively with billing, collections, and insurance representatives
- Assist with accounts receivable follow-up as needed
Experience
- Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of medical payment posting experience
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance reimbursement
- Experience with ERAs, EOBs, and medical billing software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in radiology, imaging, or specialty practice billing
- Familiarity with revenue cycle management processes
