*Job Summary*
The Bank of East Asia, Limited, Los Angeles Branch is currently seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to join its Risk Management Unit. The Credit Risk Analyst is responsible for conducting detail credit analysis on individual loan assets of the bank including more complicated credits and ensuring full compliance of terms and conditions before closing. This position requires exercise of independent discretion and judgment in the performance of the following high-level tasks.
*Key Responsibilities*
- Conducts independent in-depth credit analysis on credit proposals including new or existing loans submitted by business departments and make independent assessment and recommendations supported by rationale for use in decision making by approval parties and Credit Committee.
- Insures that all credit proposals conform to credit policy and guidelines and compliance policy and procedures as they relate to all lending activities of the bank. Any deviation from credit policy must be properly documented, justified and approved.
- Evaluates and reviews the underwriting of commercial loans, credit structure, collateral, and repayment source analysis, perform independent credit assessment, risk identification and mitigation for recommendation of credit approval
- Understands credit policy and procedures to ensure timely amendment of Credit Manual and Procedure in compliance with changes in local and regulatory guidelines.
- Understands economic, industry and market trends to analyze and verify financial assessment of the borrower and guarantor prepared by business departments.
- Reviews stress test and projections including cash flow projections prepared by business departments.
- Assists in handling problem accounts and developing collection strategies.
- Reviews loan documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with approval terms and conditions, law and regulation and Bank credit policy.
- Oversees other risk management areas in banking operations.
- Assists in projects involving portfolio review and loan data quality.
- Perform other related duties and assignment as required.
*Desired Skills and Experiences*
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance; or equivalent with minimum 3-5 years of hands-on credit experiences in commercial lending with emphasis on Commercial Real Estate loans, Commercial & Industrial loans (for large cap corporations), and syndication loans.
- Strong comprehension skills to review loan documents, title and appraisal; maintain and conform to credit policies and procedures, monitor collateral and loan portfolio including problem loans / special assets.
- Strong writing skills with conciseness and logical thinking, good communication and organizational skills; multi-tasking abilities, adaptability and supporting peers and leaders in a teamwork environment.
- Understands changing market conditions, knowledge in financial analysis, credit administration and banking regulations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
