Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paints, stains, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray), and power tools with precision and efficiency
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and color schemes to achieve desired aesthetic outcomes
- Perform structural painting tasks on walls, ceilings, trim, stucco, masonry, and other surfaces in residential, commercial, or industrial settings
- Conduct surface repairs and restoration work including drywall patching, plastering, masonry repairs, and fixture installation
- Follow safety regulations by wearing respiratory protection and adhering to safety protocols during all painting activities
- Use ladders and scaffolding safely while maintaining balance and stability during high or hard-to-reach areas
- Assist with renovation projects by framing carpentry, trim carpentry, caulking, and basic handyman tasks as needed
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of construction estimating processes related to painting projects
- Strong understanding of color theory for effective visual color comparison and matching
- Proficiency in residential painting techniques including brush painting and roller application
- Experience with construction site surface preparation for various substrates such as drywall, stucco, concrete, and masonry
- Skilled in the use of hand tools (scrapers, putty knives), power tools (drills, sanders), paint sprayers (airless and conventional), and scaffolding equipment
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately for precise application of coatings
- Familiarity with safety regulations including respiratory protection use and adherence to safety protocols on construction sites
- Knowledge of industrial painting practices such as coating applications for large-scale or specialized surfaces
- Experience in renovation projects involving plastering, fixture installation, framing carpentry, caulking, stucco work or masonry repair
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces accurately and calculating material needs
- Hands-on experience with construction estimating for project planning and resource allocation
- Strong background in construction site experience with emphasis on maintenance or remodeling projects
